Organized by

The National School of

Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics

8 – 12 June 2026 | Ischia (NA)

Welcome to the National School of Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics (BiO&B) – a vibrant Italian initiative designed to promote a dynamic platform for training, collaboration, and scientific exchange among young researchers delving into the exciting field of biosensors and photonics.

BiO&B stands as a biennial event organized by the Biosensors Working Group of the Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF), a national branch of the European Optical Society (EOS)

Each school edition is held in a different Italian location. In 2026, the Sixth National School of Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics (Bio&B 2026) will be held in the charming island of Ischia (NA) in June.

This immersive school experience delves deep into the realm of biosensors, unveiling the latest breakthroughs in bioreceptors and cutting-edge immobilization techniques. Additionally, it sheds light on innovative optical methods that harness the magic of photon-biological matter interactions, with far-reaching applications spanning biomedicine, agri-food, and environmental sciences.

Our coveted audience includes PhD students, accomplished fellows, and post-doc scientists, drawn from esteemed universities, pioneering research institutions, and forward-thinking private companies. We welcome up to 35 participants to join us on this enlightening journey.
